A needed book
(J. R. Miller, “Counsel and Help” 1907)
“I have put my hope in Your Word.”
Psalm 119:81
So long as there are . . .
tears and sorrows,
and broken hearts,
and crushed hopes,
and human failures,
and lives burdened and bowed down,
and spirits sad and despairing—
so long will the Bible be a needed book.
It is full of inspiration, light, help and strength for earth’s weary ones.
“The law of the LORD is perfect—reviving the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy—making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right—giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant—giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is pure—enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.
They are more desirable than gold—even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey—even honey dripping from the comb.
By them is Your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.”
Psalm 19:7-11
它们比金子可羡慕,比极多的精金可羡慕;
