    (Theodore Monod, “Looking Unto Jesus!” 1874)

    (西奥多·莫诺德,《仰望耶稣!》1874年)

    “Looking unto Jesus!” Hebrews 12:2

    “仰望耶稣!”希伯来书12:2

    Only three words, but in these three words is the whole secret of spiritual life.

    仅仅三个词,但这三个词中蕴含着属灵生命的全部奥秘。

    Look unto Jesus in the Scriptures, to learn there . . .
    who He is,
    what He has done,
    what He gives,
    what He desires.

    在圣经中仰望耶稣,在那里学习……
    祂是谁,
    祂做了什么,
    祂给予什么,
    祂渴望什么。

    Looking unto Jesus in the Scriptures, we find . . .
    in His character-our pattern;
    in His teachings-our instruction;
    in His precepts-our law;
    in His promises-our support;
    in His person and in His work-a full satisfaction provided for every need of our souls.

    在圣经中仰望耶稣,我们发现……
    在祂的品格中 – 我们的榜样;
    在祂的教导中 – 我们的指引;
    在祂的训诫中 – 我们的律法;
    在祂的应许中 – 我们的支持;
    在祂的位格和工作中 – 为我们灵魂的每一需要提供完全的满足。

    “You study the Scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same Scriptures that testify about Me!” John 5:39

    “你们查考圣经,因你们以为内中有永生;给我作见证的就是这经。”约翰福音5:39

    Oh! the bitter pain and sorrow,
    That a time could ever be,
    When I proudly said to Jesus,
    “All for self-and none for Thee!”

    噢!何等痛苦和悲伤,
    曾几何时,
    我骄傲地对耶稣说,
    “一切为己 – 无一为你!”

    Yet He found me; I beheld Him,
    Bleeding on the accursed tree;
    And my wistful heart said faintly,
    “Some for self-and some for Thee.”

    然而祂寻见了我;我注视着祂,
    在被咒诅的树上流血;
    我渴望的心微弱地说,
    “一些为己 – 一些为你。”

    Day by day His tender mercy,
    Healing, helping, full and free,
    Brought me lower, while I whispered,
    “Less for self-and more for Thee.”

    日复一日,祂温柔的怜悯,
    医治,帮助,丰盛而自由,
    使我更加谦卑,我轻声说,
    “少为己 – 多为你。”

    Higher than the highest heavens,
    Deeper than the deepest sea;
    Lord, Thy love at last has conquered,
    “None for self-and all for Thee!”

    高过最高的天,
    深过最深的海;
    主啊,你的爱终于征服了我,
    “无一为己 – 一切为你!”
